UNICEF congratulates Angelique Kidjo for CRYSTAL Award
UNICEF congratulates singer-songwriter and Goodwill Ambassador Angélique Kidjo for receiving the Crystal Award – a prize recognizing artists not only for their body of work but also their commitment to improving the state of the world.
Kidjo received the award at a ceremony in Davos today, marking the opening of the World Economic Forum.
The World Economic Forum’s decision to honour Ms. Kidjo during the 21st anniversary edition of the Crystal Awards is a testament not only to her exceptional artistic talent but also to her tireless humanitarian endeavours.
About Angélique Kidjo,
A Grammy-Award winning singer-songwriter from Benin, was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2002, with a focus on girls’ education. She is a passionate advocate for children and young people, and through her partnership with UNICEF and the Batonga Foundation she co-founded, Ms. Kidjo has used her powerful voice to speak out on issues affecting vulnerable children.
